Technology Lesson Plan

The idea behind this assignment was to integrate various forms of educational technology into a lesson plan for my specific content area. The lesson plan itself could either be an original plan or one found from an online educational resource database. In any case, the lesson plan itself needed to lack technology initially and the object of the assignment was to find ways to include technology. I chose to use a lesson plan in which I created for a separate class and simply add technology to the plan, wherever I could.  With this in mind, I integrated the use of apps on mobile devices, the use of a SmartBoard, as well as the use of online blog programs. I felt fortunate to have recently had to create a lesson plan as it was a great precursor to this assignment. It was also great to be able to use a plan that I was already familiar with as it was easier to come up with ways to change the lesson in order to make it use more technology. When trying to think of ways I could add a technological component to my lesson plan, I reflected on some of the different techniques that were presented in EDCT 264, as well as my other education classes. In doing so, it was a fairly easy process of finding good examples of technology in the classroom, and then translating those methods to fit my own personal lesson plan. After having completed the assignment, I feel more competent to not just create lesson plans, but to create engaging and interesting lesson plans. By only changing a few aspects of my already established lesson plan, I was able to create a more fun, interesting, and stimulating lesson plan for the different types of learners I may have in my future classroom. I definitely think the ability to integrate various types of technology will come in handy in my future career as an educator as it will allow me to create a more engaging lesson and establish stronger connections with my students.
